👋 Hi there! I am Kaipeng Li, an System Engineer at the Ricoh Group and an Independent Researcher working on Information Retrieval, Recommender Systems, and Generative AI. I received my Master’s degree from the Graduate School of Library, Information and Media Studies, University of Tsukuba, Japan.
I am fortunate to have been advised by Prof. Haitao Yu and to collaborate with the II Research Lab and the Information Retrieval Group at the University of Tsukuba.
My research interests lie at the intersection of Information Retrieval, Recommender Systems, and Generative AI, with a particular focus on generative retrieval, multimodal retrieval, and personalized information access. I am interested in building intelligent systems that can better understand user intent and retrieve relevant information from large-scale and heterogeneous candidate pools.
My recent work explores how large language models and modern deep learning techniques can improve search ranking, recommendation quality, and information discovery. I also study how to bridge classical retrieval pipelines with generative approaches, aiming to develop systems that are both effective and scalable.
